Insights from Sibos 2025: GenAI, DLT, and the banking-tech horizon

At Sibos 2025, thought leaders from TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) and global banking technologists shared perspectives on how GenAI, distributed ledger technology (DLT), and composable architecture are reshaping financial services.

Vivekanand Ramgopal, President of BFSI Products & Platforms at TCS, highlighted three core trends:

  • Composable banking (modular, plug-and-play services) to accelerate innovation cycles,
  • AI-powered automation for customer support, fraud detection, and operations,
  • Interoperable DLT frameworks for tokenized assets, payments, and identity solutions.

Speakers pointed to real challenges: bridging legacy systems, establishing standard protocols, managing cross-jurisdiction compliance, and ensuring scalability. A recurring theme was “technology as enabler, not distraction”: many organizations are seeking to adopt tech that aligns with domain logic, rather than layering tech over flawed processes.

The event emphasized that financial institutions must evolve from monolithic systems to agile platforms, while collaborating with fintech and infrastructure providers to stay competitive in a fast-moving ecosystem.
